The sidequest

A perfect getaway if you've never slept in a refuge. The path winds through rocks and forest with amazing views and is easy to follow with no exposed sections. Careful when you arrive: the refuge sits right next to a big drop. The refuge opened in the 1930s and has sheltered hikers and climbers ever since. Along the way I've marked a few detours to take photos from the best viewpoints.

The route step by stepEvery stop with a direct Google Maps link so you don't get lost.
Getting there and where to sleepLeave the car at the car park marked on the map, at about 680 m, and follow the trail up to the Sant Antoni hermitage and refuge, at about 1,090 m. It takes 1 h 30 to 2 h.

Before you go

There is a big drop around the refuge: be careful, especially at night or with kids. Bring a headlamp: walking back or arriving in the dark is another story.
